He’s known as the silver fox of daytime television, but Phillip Schofield has debuted a very modern new hair style indeed over on Instagram.
The 57-year-old braved a new colour during a garden birthday party, sharing video and photo updates to his army of followers.
Phillip appeared to brace himself and grit his teeth as he allowed a party member to spray his hair with glitter spray.
“I fecking hate glitter!” he exclaims in one video.

But perhaps rather unexpectedly, he then asks to have more spray – and this time a blue hair dye.
“Was that it? If you’re going to do it, do it properly!” he tells his pal.
He went on to joke that he’s back on television on Monday, and hoped the blue dye isn’t permanent.
“I’m on the telly on Monday, does it wash out? Are you sure?” he asks.

And he even got his mum in on the blue hair action, sharing a photo of the two with blue streaks on Instagram.
Captioning the selfie with: “My mother encouraged this!!!” many of his followers can’t seem to get enough of his surprising new look.
“Blue hair dye? keep it for Monday.. 😂” commented one follower.
“Holly Willoughby will love it on Monday morning new you its your style defo,” wrote another.
“The blue looks amazing!!! Silver blue fox 😍,” wrote a third.
While others were simply thrilled to see his mum, with many agreeing that she looked fun.
One follower joked “So now we know you have your mother’s wicked sense of humour!! 😂” and another posted “Your mum looks like she loves a little giggle 😂😂🙊.”
We wonder what Holly will make of Phillip’s blue makeover and if it will have fully washed out by Monday morning…
