Paul Sinha brands The Chase bosses ‘racist’ and makes crude joke about co-star Mark Labbett

He made the comments during a comedy gig

The Chase star Paul Sinha has accused his ITV bosses of “low level racism” for giving his co-star Shaun Wallace the nickname Dark Destroyer.

During a comedy gig in Lewisham, London, Paul also took aim at his co-star Mark Labbett – aka The Beast – as he joked about him “[expletive] his cousin”.

According to The Sun, Paul told the crowd: “In 2011, I landed myself the dream job on the enduringly popular ITV quiz show The Chase.

“I am the [bleep] in the white suit. I have two nicknames, they are the Sinnerman and the Smiling Assassin. I don’t mind as the other Chasers are called the Vixen, the Dark Destroyer, the Governess, the Beast.

“Anne Hegerty is called The Governess because she is bossy and cruel, and Mark Labbett is known as the Beast because he is [expletive] his cousin. It is a distant cousin.

“Spare a thought for Shaun Wallace. He has been a barrister for 30 years and what do they call him? The Dark Destroyer? Because low level racism is still allowed on an ITV game show.”

He added: “People always ask me, ‘Where is your white suit?’ What am I supposed to say to that? It’s on your grandad’s bedroom floor where I left it.”

Ent Daily has contacted reps for Paul and ITV for comment.

In 2014, Mark hit headlines when he married Katie and later found out they were second cousins.

Mark had previously said the pair weren’t aware they were related until after they tied the knot.

Because low level racism is still allowed on an ITV game show.

The quiz expert was reported to have split from Katie in May after it emerged she had been having an affair with another man, Scott Bate.

Katie then spoke to The Sun about her relationship with Mark, claiming it was the lack of mutual friends and habits that led to the couple drifting apart, saying they have “different lives”.

However, during an appearance on Loose Women last month, Mark insisted they were “working” on their relationship.

Panellist Denise Welch asked the quizmaster: “So what you’re saying is, your wife and you are working through, and all is good and you’re still together?”

Mark said nothing, only flashing his ring finger to show he was still wearing his wedding band.
