Lorraine Kelly reveals she has written a self-help book after experiencing anxiety

She wants to get everyone feeling good

TV host Lorraine Kelly has announced that she has been busy secretly creating a self-help book.

The 59-year-old Lorraine presenter revealed the news on her Instagram account today.

The new book is called Shine and Lorraine is on a mission to get the nation feeling better about themselves amid the ongoing conversation about mental health in the UK.

Lorraine says she wants to share her personal “life lessons” with others after suffering anxiety during the menopause.

She told her followers: “Cannot tell you how excited I am to share the cover for my new book, Shine, out in October this year. I’m sharing my life lessons on how to make every day a little brighter! Preorder at @waterstones.”

Lorraine said of the book’s purpose: “Women often ask me how I manage to keep my energy, positivity and enthusiasm up, day in, day out. To be honest, like all of us, I have my off days.

“I’ve suffered with anxiety and struggled with the menopause, but I’ve found ways to get my shine back.”

The breakfast TV veteran added: “I want to share all of those experiences and the lessons I have learned with other women so that we can all make every day a little sunnier.”

Lorraine is also a big believer in exercising to feel good.

She often works out with her personal trainer Maxine, who she has released several fitness DVDs with.

The Scottish star has said on her show: “Exercise can actually help, even with very difficult mental health problems. You take control a little bit for you and that’s good.”
