Katie Price’s boyfriend admits he attempted suicide

Kris Boyson ran in front of oncoming traffic during anxiety battle

Katie Price’s on/off boyfriend Kris Boyson has revealed that he was once in such a dark place that he thought his only option was to take his own life.

Speaking to New! magazine, the personal trainer revealed that he has suffered from depression since the age of 21.

He ended up losing his job when his anxiety got so overwhelming that it left him with a feeling of “ominous doom”.

“I was in a nightmare,” he revealed. “The only thing I could do to get out of the nightmare – and I’ve only ever told my parents and a couple of close friends this – was run into the road into an oncoming car.”

Kris added: “That was rock bottom. I thought it would end the pain.”

And Kris revealed that he is only here today because his cousin “intervened”.

“I wasn’t thinking about suicide, I just didn’t want to feel how I felt any more. I wanted the pain to stop.”

Kris said he decided to open up after the tragic death of Love Island star Mike Thalassitis, who recently took his own life at the age of 26.

The fitness fan says Mike’s passing was a “wake-up call” and that it’s time people realise it’s okay to speak about mental health. “It’s okay not to be okay,” Kris said.

After his suicide attempt, Kris says his parents took him to see a psychologist and he was prescribed antidepressants. He credits exercise and becoming a personal trainer with getting his life back on track.

Kris, 30, also revealed that girlfriend Katie, 40, is a prime example of someone who “suffers in silence”, admitting that she has her own struggles but feels she can’t “show any weakness”.

He said: “People think she’s tough as nails and she plays up to that because it’s her coping mechanism. If she shows any weakness she’ll get eaten alive.”
