In May, The Sun Online seemed to suggest that mum-of-two Jacqueline had an excellent chance of appearing on Simon Cowell’s new star-studded singing programme, which is rumoured to be starting in late summer.

A source told the website: “Jacqueline has met bosses for talks about joining the show, and they are ongoing. The final line-up hasn’t been confirmed yet and the decisions are still to be made.”

And to back up this story, another inside said of the actress, who played Lauren Branning in EastEnders: “She couldn’t keep it a secret and has been telling pals she’s so excited and can’t wait to show off her amazing voice.”

Celebrity X Factor is one of two new versions of The X Factor being screened this year. There will also be an ‘All-Star’ edition, in which former champions will compete against each other.

So far, there’s been no confirmation about who’ll be competing on the Celeb series, but David Walliams, Brendan Cole and Gemma Collins are among the names that have been bandied about.
