EastEnders star so devastated by death of his dog he has cancelled his birthday

He has asked fans to say a prayer instead of wish him "Happy Birthday"

Most celebs like to keep their private lives pretty private, but one actor has been brutally honest in a social media post that has left his fans feeling very sorry for him.

Former EastEnders actor Danny-Boy Hatchard has told his followers – on the day of his birthday we might add – that he has been left  heartbroken following the death of a loved one.

In his heartfelt message he wrote about the loss of his pet pooch Django and has revealed that he is having a bad time getting over his death.

He wrote: “A lot of you may have noticed my recent absence from social media and that today is in fact my birthday.

“However, in all honesty, I’m feeling light years away from wanting to celebrate.

“The truth is in recent weeks, my heart has been shattered into a thousand pieces and only now have I began to find the strength to slowly put the pieces back together again, and pluck up enough courage to release the horrific news that my precious baby boy Django has passed away!”

He continued: “I am feeling beyond lost and still heavily grieving, but will release a blog with more details in due course.

“I have written and deleted pages and pages of things to say but I’ve come to realise that I am just not ready yet, so please bear with me.”

He added: “In the meantime, as polite request, please don’t wish me Happy Birthday, but instead say a prayer for my little angel and share a moment to hold him in your thoughts.

“I want to day to be about him.”
