John Barrowman rushed to hospital after collapsing

The actor was "in agony"

John Barrowman has been rushed to hospital for emergency surgery.

The Scottish actor was taken to the Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California, after collapsing in “agony”.

The Doctor Who and Torchwood star has been posting regular video updates of his stay in hospital for worried fans.

He shared with his Instagram followers that that he’d been woken up at 6am and taken down to surgery.

He said: “I feel a bit like I’ve been hit by a car and I’m just sore all over. My throat is sore because of the tube. I’m just sore all over.”

I am out of surgery. Feel like I have been hit by a bus. Jb

The former I’d Do Anything judge also posted a pic of himself in his hospital bed, and pointed out the TARDIS socks he was rocking.

“Got my fan made #TARDIS socks on keeping my feet warm in the hospital,” he said.

John’s shock collapse came mere days after he sucked himself into a sparkly TARDIS dress and belted out a rendition of Copacabana at the San Diego Comic Con over the weekend.

What a legend. Literally no one else could pull this off (or indeed would want to!).

During the event, the identity of the new Doctor Who – Broadchurch actress Jodie Whittaker – was revealed.

While the appointment of a woman to the role has upset some, John gave the move his full backing.

He wrote on Twitter: “CONGRATULATIONS Jodie Whittaker or should I say “Hello Doctor”. History is made with bold moves.”

Get well soon JB.
