She later deleted the tweets.

However, Katie has now reassured fans she is doing well, saying she’s “a soldier and been through hell of a lot worse”.

She wrote on Twitter: “Ok to put people’s minds, and questions to rest. I am absolutely fine thank you so much for all your concern and checking in on me but I’m a soldier and been through hell of a lot worse.

“Now you can start focusing your concerns on some real news Love you all xx.”

Fans were glad to hear Katie was okay and shared their concerns over her now-deleted tweets.

One person said: “Am so sorry to hear this Katie. Absolutely shocking hope your OK what is this world coming to we can’t go out for the night without fear of something happening.”

Katie, 27, joined EastEnders in February 2018 to play Hayley, the cousin of Jessie Wallace’s Kat Moon.

She was involved in a major story line later that year when it emerged she had had an affair with Alfie Moon.

Katie has been off-screen in the soap for the last several weeks because her character Hayley was convinced to seek treatment for her history of self-harm and drinking.
