Eamonn Holmes impresses fans with ‘stunning’ portrait for his 60th birthday

The likeness is uncanny

Fans of Eamonn Holmes were deeply impressed when the presenter shared snaps of a stunning portrait an artist painted for his 60th birthday.

On Instagram, the This Morning favourite uploaded pics of a realistic portrait produced by artist Colin Davidson – and his followers think the likeness is “amazing” and “stunning”.

The snaps, shared on Monday (09.12.19), show Eamonn and his wife and co-presenter Ruth Langsford standing with painter Colin.

Eamonn has a half-smiling, half-serious expression in the painting and wears his signature dark suit and white open-collar shirt.

Some of the Irish host’s celebrity pals wer-e quick to comment on the post, including presenter Josie Gibson, who said: “What a fine looking man!”

And Loose Women‘s Coleen Nolan wrote: “Wow that’s fantastic!”

Eamonn’s fans also flooded the comments, calling the portrait “wonderful” and “incredible”.

One said: “Oh Eamonn, I really, really like this. It’s wonderful!”

Omg, this is amazing!

Another admitted: “I want that above my mantelpiece.”

A third commented: “Oh wow, that is just so stunning xxxx.”

Someone else said: “Omg, this is amazing!”

“Wow wow wow! What an incredible talent,” said a fifth, adding: “Both you and the artist, of course.”l

Last week, Eamonn delighted fans with a sweet snap of himself and Ruth on holiday in Vienna to celebrate his birthday.

In the caption of a photo from the trip posted to Instagram, Eamonn revealed that the holiday was a surprise present from his wife.

Not only did he have no idea they were going to Vienna, but when he arrived in the Austrian capital, his grown-up children were all waiting for him there!

Eamonn wrote alongside the pic, which showed him beaming next to Ruth in front of a festive scene: “Whisked off by Ruth on a complete mystery trip for my birthday. Ended up in Vienna with my children waiting there for me! Never been before – can’t wait to come back. Great time in a truly majestic city.”

On the day of his birthday, Eamonn got a lot of love from his family and friends.

His eldest son, Declan, shared a string of photos of himself and his dad to Instagram to mark the occasion, and Eamonn reposted them for his own followers.

Two of the pics showed Declan as a little boy as he spent time with his dad, while the other two were of the pair more recently, including one from Declan’s wedding day.
