Cheryl set to return to The X Factor, but NOT as a judge…?

Back to where she belongs?

Okay, we know that Cheryl has been busy being a mum for the past few months, but what has the reclusive star been actually doing for the past two years?

We know she’s been dating Liam Payne and doing all the things she needed to do to have a baby.

We know she’s been dyeing her hair blonde.

And we know from her recent birthday party that she’s a big fan of Love Island.

But what is she doing for work?

Yes, L’Oreal pay her a fair fortune for the odd hair pic, but what about what we actually love her for most – you know, her music?

It’s been so long since we’ve heard a peep from the Geordie songstress, that we can barely remember what she actually sounds like.

But the good news is, it looks like the wait for her return could be over very soon.

Not only is she rumoured to be recording new material (apparently she and Liam are fighting to be the most successful half of their pop superstar twosome), there are rumblings that she may make a return to The X Factor.

But in what capacity, we hear you ask?

Well, we know it won’t be as a judge, as the line up has already been confirmed as Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh.

Which means she could either help someone out at Judges’ Houses or even return to The X Factor’s stage to perform a new song.

However, an X Factor aide has said that upcoming episodes of the show are still up in the air.

“No decisions have been made as yet with regards to the mentors for judges’ houses,” they said.”This report is merely very premature speculation.”

Of course, it would be perfect for Cheryl’s comeback to be something X Factor related as she and the show go back a long way.

After she split from Ashley Cole, she joined the judging panel in 2008 where, by oddly, she would meet her future partner Liam for the first time.

Of course back then, she was sick of men and at 17, Liam clearly he wasn’t quite her cup of tea so romance didn’t blossom then.

So X Factor would be the perfect vehicle to reignite Cheryl’s career.

And fans couldn’t agree more.

One said: “omgg Everybody wants cheryl to return x factor without cheryl it’s not a factor!” while another posted, “Would love to see Gary [Barlow] and Cheryl as the judges on X Factor one day”

We’ll just have to wait and see.
