BGT viewers blast David Walliams for menopause remark to contestant

Siobhan laughed his remark off

David Walliams has been criticised for telling Britain’s Got Talent contestant Siobhan Phillips that she was going through the menopause.

During last night’s final, musical comedian Siobhan fanned herself as she was struggling with the heat after her performance.

Judge David, 47, then made the comment leaving his co-judges Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and Simon Cowell stunned.

David told Siobhan: “You’re going through the change.”

As the audience and Siohban herself laughed, Alesha told David: “That’s so cheeky!”

Viewers were also left unimpressed by his comment and shared their thoughts on Twitter.

One person wrote: “David that was a poor choice to comment on last contestant having the change. Wrong wrong and wrong.”

Another said: “As if David just asked if she’s going through the change?” while a third added: “@davidwalliams joking about ‘the change’ on #bgtfinal is not cool no pun intended!”

Others found David’s comment funny.

One person said: “David to Siobhan: ‘You going through the change?’ Simons face just then,” followed by laughing face emojis.

Colin also said he has a lovely plan for his £250,000 winnings, adding: “I live in a wonderful place and I want to make a donation to that.”
