This Morning has said goodbye to one of its beloved stars – Digby the dog.
Yep, it was the pup’s last day on Friday’s show as he’s going off to complete his Dogs For Good assistance dog training.
The lab pooch was adopted by the show as a puppy last year and his training to become an assistance dog has been documented on-screen.

Opening the show on Friday, hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield announced it was their last day before heading off on their six-week summer break.
Holly told viewers: “It’s our last show before Eammon and Ruth take over for the summer from Monday. Definitely in holiday mode now. We are taking a little bit of time off for the summer.”
She then said: “But it’s also Digby’s last day with us which is very sad, but he’s going off to bigger and better things to become a full-time Dogs For Good assistance dog.”
Phil told Digby: “You’re being very good and very patient. You are so much better!”
Bending down to Digby, Holly gushed: “We’re going to miss your face and your eyebrows.”
Phil added: “Yes we are, we’re going to miss you.”
They then gave the adorable lab a chew toy as Holly gushed: “Digby, you have been amazing. We have absolutely loved having you here.”

Viewers flocked to Twitter to wish Digby all the best on his new adventures.

Digby first arrived at This Morning in September last year as a 12-week-old pup.
During an episode of the show at the time, Phil told viewers: “We’ve got a new addition to the This Morning family. Neither of us have seen him yet,” as Holly jigged up and down with excitement.
And when the Labrador-Golden Retriever cross was brought into the studio, she covered her mouth with shock at how cute he was.
“Oh my goodness, look at your big paws. You’re going to get so big!” she told the pup as she stroked his ears.
They then gave him his adorable name with the help of viewers.
Digby is This Morning’s third canine mascot, following in the paw prints of Labradoodle Luna and her predecessor, Labrador Clover.
Both of those dogs have gone on to become assistance dogs, too.
At the end of Friday’s show, Phil and Holly danced along to a performance of Strictly Ballroom outside the studio as they said their goodbyes to viewers.

Holly said: “It’s been an amazing year, cheers! And thank you to the whole team who will be back on Monday, of course, because Eamonn and Ruth are going to be here.”
Phil added: “Yes, we are slipping away for a little while now… only for a bit of Prosecco, but we’ll be back in September. Have a fantastic summer, lots of love, we’ll see you then.”
