Strictly star teases future role on Coronation Street

Fox-trotting onto the cobbles?

Former Strictly Come Dancing star Joanne Clifton, who is the sister of Kevin, currently has a starring role in touring production, Flashdance – The Musical, but apparently she’s set her sights on something completely different.

Gorgeous Jo, who won the show in 2016 with Ore Oduba, fancies a stint on Coronation Street.

Speaking on BBC Radio she said: “I’m studying in TV acting – that’s on the side.

“While I’m on tour I may as well use my day time to study in other things and get as much knowledge as I can and as much training as I can.”

She then joked that her accent would help if she wanted to land a role on the UK’s most famous street.

Jo said: “I think with my accent, I’m more suitable to Coronation Street than Eastenders but you never know – we’ll see what comes up.

“What I do like is shouting, in Flashdance I have some good arguments with Ben Adams on stage. We have a good shout at each other.

“I really like that so I’m hoping I get roles where I can shout!”

Pretty much any soap fits that criteria then!

Jo isn’t the only twinkle-toed celeb who has confessed to wanting a soap job recently.

Dancing On Ice star Kem Cetinay revealed that he’d love to star in EastEnders, and is actually obsessed with Alfie Moon.

He told the Daily Star on Sunday: “I absolutely love EastEnders.

“I’m a lifelong fan – I never miss it. I really want to be on it. I could be Alfie Moon.”
