I’m A Celebrity Extra Camp viewers in hysterics at awkward Scarlett interview

There was a bit of a communication break down

Scarlett Moffatt had I’m A Celebrity Extra Camp viewers in hysterics, during a rather awkward interview with a footballing legend.

The Geordie presenter was speaking to Chelsea star Gianfranco Zola, about his old teammate Dennis Wise, who is currently in the I’m A Celeb jungle.

But thanks to his thick accent, and a bit of a satellite time delay on the phoneline, Scarlett couldn’t understand a word the footballer was saying.

Not that she admitted that or let him know, instead she just kept smiling and saying “yeah” at the end of each of Zola’s replies.

But her co-host Joel Dommett – and the viewers at home – could very obviously tell that Scarlett was struggling to pick up what the Italian sportsman was saying.

And they found it hilarious.

“Haha Scarlett hasn’t got a bloody clue what he’s saying #ExtraCamp,” commented one.

“Scarlett Moffatt on the phone to Gianfranco Zola… That has got to be the funniest thing I’ve ever ever seen. Hilarious!declared another.

And someone else said: “Scarlett saying ‘Yeah’ at the end of everything Gianfranco Zola says is comedy gold.

One joker tweeted a picture of Manuel from Fawlty Towers, who famously never understood anything anyone said and would just reply “Que?”

But not everyone was so impressed with her rather clueless interviewing technique.

While one viewer branded it a “car crash”, another asked: “What is the point of using Scarlett to ask Gianfranco Zola any questions when she barely speaks English herself?”

And another viewer, presumably a Chelsea fan, was most definitely not laughing.

“This Zola interview is both a car crash and an insult to the man,” he declared.
