First glimpse of Olly Murs as The Voice UK judge in new trailer

He's replaced Gavin Rossdale as judge

Olly Murs has appeared in the swish new trailer for The Voice, alongside fellow judges Jennifer Hudson, will.i.am and Sir Tom Jones.

And it looks like he’s taking things very seriously, which must have been difficult for the famously cheeky pop star.

Remember that scene in The BFG, where the titular giant searches through loads of jars looking for the perfect ingredients to create a dream?

The new Voice trailer seems to have been inspired by it, as it features the judges entering a “library of sound.”

They’re searching for whichever jar contains the perfect voice, which could go on to become the winner of the series.

Olly is shown striding through a well-lit doorway in a sharp black suit, and holding up jars with “voices” inside of them.

The trailer was filmed at Arley Hall in Northwich, Chesire, and the owners of the stately home allowed their shelves to be totally cleared of hundreds of antique books.

These were replaced with more than 2000 individually lit jars, for the stars of the show to sift through in the clip.

As well as Olly, the trailer also shows Jennifer Hudson, Tom Jones and will.i.am making their way through the hall on the hunt for the perfect voice.

This will be Olly’s first series judging on The Voice, having previously been a presenter on rival ITV show The X Factor.

And the swapping of sides has reportedly ruffled Simon Cowell’s feathers to the point where their friendship was seriously damaged.

The trailer will air for the first time on ITV on December 4th, with the show itself due to start in January of 2018.

We wonder if Simon will be watching!
