For the past few weeks, we’ve been hearing all kinds of gossip about Gemma Atkinson and her Strictly colleague, professional dancer Gorka Marquez.
The pair have been seen enjoying meals together and posing for social-media selfies, leading some to speculate that they’re more than just friends.
But just to confuse matters, there’s also been whispers that former Emmerdale actress Gemma, 32, is dating ex-Manchester United footballer Ryan Giggs.
Well, yesterday, the Welshman addressed those rumours during an appearance on Gemma’s radio breakfast show. So are those two an item, or is it all just media hokum?
Let’s start by reminding ourselves why those whispers first surfaced. Last month, Gemma’s Strictly dance partner Aljaz Skornajec, 27, posted an Instagram photo of Ryan enjoying a meal with him and Gemma.
And then earlier this week, Aljaz uploaded a video to Twitter that showed Ryan visiting him and Gemma in their rehearsal studio.
So why exactly has the footy star been hanging around so much?
He explained the situation during a guest appearance on Gemma’s Key 103 radio programme.

Ryan, 43, said: “Me and Gemma have been friends for a long time – and, you know, as if!”
The studio then erupted into laughter, causing Gemma to give an embarrassed retort: “Oh, cheers!”
But in all seriousness, we imagine she’s not too offended. Only last month, she herself seemed to poo-poo the idea of any romance with the former footy star.
She told OK! magazine: “I’m always linked to Ryan! I’ve been mates with Ryan since I was 19 or 20. We’ve got the same group of friends, that’s all.”

So if Giggsy’s out of the picture, what of that other persistent rumour – that she’s secretly snogging Gorka, 27?
Though she was referring specifically to the Ryan rumours, she could’ve also meant the Spanish dancer when she said on the radio programme: “Anyone I hang about with of the opposite sex, people say I’m going out with.”
And lest we forget that Gemma’s Strictly co-star Alexandra Burke – who’s partnered with Gorka on the BBC show – also scotched rumours of an affair.
The former X Factor star said on Lorraine last month: “You literally can’t believe those kind of things. It’s all fun, and it’s a lot of love with every contestant on the show, and every pro too.”
Come on, guys, stop being boring – we want some romance!
