Everyone is making the same joke about Phelan after last night’s Coronation Street

Side-splitting stuff...

| Updated:

So in case you hadn’t hear for some reason Corrie uber-baddie Pat Phelan (Connor McIntyre) survived his apparent death fall on Friday and somehow made his way to a B&B in Ireland.

How nice.

The end of last night’s second episode showed the murderous builder calling himself Mr Frost and being pandered to by an unsuspecting Irish lady.

He even gave us a terrifying reminder of how badass he is by requesting a needle and thread to mend a torn shirt, and then proceeded to stitch up a huge wound in his leg.

Not even a bottle of scotch to numb the pain.

With the serial killer making a seemingly miraculous return from the dead, viewers were quick to point out the similarities between Phelan and another well-known figure who was resurrected over the Easter period.

You can see where this is going, right?

“So he died on Good Friday and he’s alive by Monday…it’s confirmed Pat Phelan is in fact Jesus #Corrie” quipped one soap watcher.

“He died on good Friday and rose again on the Monday – Phelan is Jesus!” another hilariously observed.

And many, MANY more Twitterers made pretty much the same joke.

It was funny the first time but it’s worn a bit thin now tbh.

Also in last night’s double-bill Phelan’s wife Eileen (Sue Cleaver) was arrested as police found some incriminating evidence that she was planning on doing a runner with her hubby.

A forged passport with a new identity is pretty incriminating.

And as word spread around Weatherfield that their neighbour had married a murderer, many locals were quick to point the finger at Eileen too.

So what happens next for Phelan? Whatever the plan it’s sure to be gripping.
