Emmerdale fans were overcome with emotion last night as they watched the soap’s best-loved couple, Robert Sugden and Aaron Dingle, finally reunite.

The pair, who married each other last year, have spent much of the past 12 months estranged after Robert cheated on Aaron with Rebecca White and got her pregnant.
But Robron fans were left elated last night when the boys finally got back together in some touching – and sob-inducing – scenes.
It was a bit touch and go as to whether or not they’d actually get there though, when Robert told Aaron he couldn’t do it, even though he loved him.
Aaron didn’t let his man get away however and chased after Robert.
The night started with Robert being dragged to a gay bar where he was encouraged by Bernice Blackstock to move on from Aaron and find another guy.
Aaron followed after hearing about the night out, and hot on his heels was current boyfriend, Dr. Alex.
But Robert and Aaron eventually ended up in the garage where they said their vows a year ago, and Aaron confessed he’d called things off with Alex.
When Robert asked him why, Aaron replied: “Because I still want you.”
They almost kissed before Robert pulled away, telling Aaron he’d rather not have him than lose him again.
He stormed off home, but Aaron didn’t give up, chasing after him and asking Robert to ‘come home.’
Robert said: “Of course I’ll come home with you, I love you so much.”
And they sealed it with a kiss. Perfect.
Fans took to Twitter to share their joy over the long-awaited moment.
“Emmerdale shattered my heart then pieced it together n filled it with love n happiness- all in the space of an hour,” said one ecstatic fan, while another added: “Best night out. EVER.”
Another fan gushed: “I was in tears there. OMG let these two stay together now, they melt my wee heart. Blooming awesome acting.”
While a fourth commented: “absolute sob fest, beautifully done as always.”
Now we can all breathe again and start looking forward to that rumoured summer wedding.
