In case you weren’t aware Emmerdale is reuniting one of soap’s most loved couples tonight. After spending most of the past year apart Aaron Dingle and Robert Sugden – AKA Robron – will be falling back into each other’s arms. And we are EXCITED!
To celebrate their love – and our love of their love – here are a few of our favourite Robron moments.
The Very First Kiss

Scheming Robert lured Aaron out to a country lane under the pretence of a broken down car. The next thing we know, he’s grabbing Aaron and snogging his face off. And so Robron was born.
When they (kind of) declared their love for each other
This was so cute. Aaron was getting cold feet about getting involved with the scrap business and Robert. “You’re not supposed to do business with people you…”he mumbled, while an amused Robert pressed him to finish the sentence. But then Robert said: “Don’t get cold feet. It’ll make me think I fell for a quitter.” Be still our hearts!
When they shacked up at Home Farm
When the Whites were away, Robron had a chance to play. Seeing them being a normal (well, in soap terms) couple in an actual house, instead of all that sneaking around in barns was a real turning point for our boys. Suddenly we could see them setting up home together, maybe even married?! If only it wasn’t for that pesky Chrissie.
When Aaron snapped and told Chrissie
While we’re not on board with the whole ‘outing another person’ thing generally, we’ll make an exception this time. Fed up of just being Robert’s bit on the side, Aaron told a stunned Chrissie that her hub had been playing away – with him. Robert denied it, but Aaron had all the times, dates and details. There were tears, there was angst but the secret was FINALLY out. But was Robert ready to be…?
When Aaron confided in Robert about his sexual abuse
The storyline that won Emmerdale and Danny Miller a shelf load of awards kicked off when Aaron tearfully confided in a shocked Robert about the rapes he’d suffered at his dad’s hands when he was a kid. His brutal description of the first time – when he was eight – had pretty much THE WORLD in tears. Robert responded in the best way possible, by telling him he had nothing to be ashamed of and that he still loves him. Waaaaaaaaa.
Robert’s support through the trial
When Aaron decided Gordon had to pay for abusing him, Robert’s loyalty never faltered. And THAT kiss before the verdict, Aaron agreeing to take it slow and see what happened, Robron perfection.
The Wedding

Was there anything more beautiful than Robert planning a whole surprise WEDDING for Aaron before he started his prison sentence? No, is the answer. Ok it wasn’t a legally binding ceremony, and they ended up saying their vows in a garage, but Robert wanting to prove his devotion to Aaron (and Liv!) was one of the most amazing Robron moments of all time.
