EastEnders viewers mock ‘laughable’ kidnapping of Mick Carter

It wasn't supposed to be so funny!

Tension was high as last night’s episode of EastEnders began. The previous visit to Walford had ended with Mick being bundled into a van by masked men – what was to become of him?

We watched – just like Linda did – in horror as the van doors slammed shut and the attackers drove off. Where were they taking him?! Would we ever see him again?

Erm, as it turned out. Yes, we would. Because his kidnappers were  Phil, Billy, Vincent, Keanu and, of course, Aidan.

And Mick had been taken – to the Arches. Yes, that’s right, just two minutes away.

“Someone want to explain what’s going on?” Mick said – which was exactly what we were all thinking.

Aidan went on to say that Mick being about to lose the Vic, and finding the funds at the last minute, was suspicious. And then he pulled out a crowbar. Oof.

Things were looking bad as Aidan threatened to knock out Mick’s teeth until he told him the truth.

“It looks a bit iffy,” Billy said.

“All this money falls from the sky,” added Keanu.

“Just when you needed it,” said Vincent.

As suspicion fell on each of the gang in turn, fans flocked to social media to share their laughter at the scenes.

“Kidnap Mick shove him in back of van and take him round corner to the garage?” laughed one viewer. “Lol.”

Another added: “Mick gets kidnapped and it’s all dramatic and then they end up round the corner.”

“The heavies weren’t thinking of the environment with the carbon footprint,” joked another viewer. While another had an idea of how the gang could have saved on petrol.

“Phil could’ve just rung Mick up and told him to come down to The Arches,” said one viewer. While another pointed out: “It would have been quicker to carry him.”

And as for Linda, who – eventually – frantically searched the Square for her husband. Well, if only she’d got downstairs a bit quicker, eh?

“If Linda walked a little further she would have seen them,” laughed a fan.
