EastEnders SPOILER: Baby tragedy for Stacey and Martin

Yet more heartache for the poor mum

Stacey and Martin Fowler’s run of terrible luck continues next week when Stacey gives birth, weeks early, in dramatic circumstances. Stacey falls ill and is forced to deliver the baby via an emergency C-section.

The couple have had a right old rough road recently, with prison sentences, social services and a heart condition in their toddler to deal with.

It doesn’t look like things are going to get easier any time soon, either. Soz, guys.

Martin is horrified when a seriously unwell Stacey is rushed to hospital, but his nightmare doesn’t stop there as once the baby has been delivered, there’s more drama to come.

Stacey’s in a pretty bad way and Martin learns their new baby, which is a girl, has some serious complications.

With the baby in the neo-natal unit, Stacey starts to come round, but she soon learns that the baby is seriously ill and in a critical condition.

Stacey and Martin are in absolute bits and a distraught Stacey pushes Martin away, leaving Michelle to support her brother.

Meanwhile Stacey refuses to see her daughter.

Martin tries his best to stay positive and lift his wife’s spirits, but he ends up reaching breaking point as terrified Stacey takes her frustration and anger out on him.

Eventually, Stacey opens up to Michelle and makes up with Martin. She agrees to visit the baby girl in the NICU, but no one knows if their daughter will survive.

Stacey and Martin have spent more than their fair share of time at Walford General recently.

They rushed baby Arthur in last week when Bex found him unresponsive in his cot.

Stacey feared his heart had stopped beating due to the Brugada syndrome he may have inherited from his dad, Kush Kazemi.

Doctors soon discovered that the toddler had somehow swallowed some of Stacey’s bi-polar medication.

They had to return to the hospital this week when social services were forced to check the cause of bruises Carmel Kazemi found on Arthur’s arms.
