EastEnders fans aren’t very happy with scriptwriters at the moment and have accused the BBC soap of repeating storylines.
Upset TV watchers reacted angrily when the Taylors’ dog Bronson ate a chess piece – Ted Murray’s white Queen, no less.
One fan even accused scriptwriters for the long-running serial drama of “not being bothered”.
On Thursday night’s hour-long episode (22 February), Bernadette Taylor was seen pleading with Patrick Trueman for help after discovering that her family dog had eaten a chess piece.

And eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice that this was rather similar to another dog-related storyline shown just a few short weeks ago – when Mick and Linda Carter’s dog, Lady Di, ate Aidan Maguire’s stolen ring.
One angry Twitter fan blasted: “A dog swallows a ring then a dog swallows a chess piece. It is honestly like the storyliners can’t be bothered. There’s pointless Aiden and his constant money obsession, dog poo chess piece and a pregnant friend of a minor character that was in the show for 6 months almost 8 years ago. Sort it out.”

Another TV fan critical of the soap wrote: “Recent #EastEnders plotlines: Dog swallows ring. Dog swallows chess piece. DVD player swallows ring. #VariationsOnATheme.”

“Diabolical” claimed another in a despairing Tweet: “A dog swallowed a valuable diamond ring and we had the *delightful* Shirley waiting for it to come out it’s rear end. Dog sniffs out chess piece, chess piece goes missing…..Is this really #EastEnders?? I despair. No matter the outcome..Di.A.Bollicle.”
Well the dogs in Albert Square certainly seem to be hungry… Or a bit daft!
