Ever since Hayley arrived in EastEnders, her identity has been shrouded in mystery.
But now, fans of BBC soap EastEnders think they have discovered who she really is… And they might just be on to something.
Since raven-haired Hayley – played by actress Katie Jarvis – turned up earlier this year, speculation has been rife about what her true intentions are.
First, she stalked Martin in Walford and was seen taking photos of him, then she took a phone call from an unknown person where she seemed to confirm she had big plans for ‘him’.
Fans jumped to the likely conclusion that the newcomer could be a Slater wanting to get revenge on Martin. And she does seem to like wearing leopard-print like a true Slater.
But now there’s a new theory… That Hayley could actually be a Mitchell!
One curious viewer took to Twitter to share his suspicions, tweeting: “So who is Martins stalker on EastEnders? I am thinking gobby,dark hair,bit chazzy ..got to be a Slater…outside bet… a relative of Jamie Mitchell coming for revenge,”

Another theory suggested is that Hayley could be Jamie Mitchell and Zoe Slater’s daughter, referencing an old storyline between Phil Mitchell’s nephew and Kat Moon’s daughter who slept together in 2000.

Whoever she is, she looks set to cause big trouble in Walford, which is great news for us fans!
This week, Hayley makes a move on unsuspecting Martin – who already has enough trouble on his hands!
Meanwhile, 26-year-old actress Katie took to Twitter to share an inspirational message to her 536 followers.
She wrote: “So proud of myself for getting to where i am. Coming from nothing – thrown the chance of a lifetime and after years of hard work and trying to prove myself it finally paying off. So greatful for the chances, support and acceptance I’ve had. I’m proof any1 can do anything.”
Her first role was in the acclaimed Brit film Fish Tank. She was just a teenager when she won the role as Mia, opposite the rather handsome Michael Fassbender as her step-dad.
Katie won Best Newcomer at the British Independent Film Awards for the role in 2009.
EastEnders continues on BBC1, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8pm.
