EastEnders fans rejoice as Phil gets his Mitchell mojo back

We are very much here for this

EastEnders fans were delighted last night when resident hard-man-turned-pussycat, Phil Mitchell, finally remembered he’s a Mitchell in the best way possible.

Phil’s son and heir, Ben, was brutally beaten up by his former lover, Luke Browning, in Friday’s episode. When Phil paid him a visit in hospital and discovered Luke was behind the beating, we just knew he wouldn’t let it go.

Despite promising Kathy, Ben and Sharon that he wouldn’t take any action on smarmy Luke – who is the son of the equally vile James Willmott-Brown who raped Kathy back in the 80s – Phil made some calls about a ‘little problem.’

In last night’s episode, Luke was cornered by three masked men who jumped out of a white van.

Luke smugly asked, “Really?” before he was dragged into the van, while Phil watched on.

We then heard some suspicious banging from inside the van, suggesting that Luke was well and truly paying for his savage attack on Ben.

Fans flocked to Twitter to express their delight about Phil returning to the dark side, after spending most of the past 12 months playing house husband to Sharon.

“EastEnders is looking good nice to see Phil Back to his old ways,” wrote one excited fan.

Another added: “Phil Mitchell back to his menacing ways #eastenders”

While a third tweeted: “The old Phil is back! About time!! #EastEnders.”

Phil has been a bit quiet of late, which is understandable after coming close to death and having a liver transplant.

He spent a lot of 2017 recuperating in Italy, but returned in the summer a changed man.

Former executive producer, Sean O’Connor, spoke to the Metro about Phil’s return back in May, saying: “His days of being a hard man are coming to an end and he has had a real wake-up call after the transplant.”

But it looks like new boss, John Yorke, has different plans for the much-loved Mitchell as he’s also getting involved with former prison-mate, Aidan.

Definitely beats Phil sitting around his kitchen drinking infinite cups of tea.

Welcome back, Phil. Now, if you could just sort out Willmott-Brown and Fi, that would be awesome.
