Coronation Street SPOILER: Desperation pushes Corrie favourite to risk everything

Latest plot twist to hit Weatherfield

Corrie’s Anna Windass is about to risk everything when she heads back to Weatherfield while on the run.

After being taken to hospital following a collapse in prison, Anna sees her chance to escape jail and makes a run for it.

Desperate to clear her name after being framed by Phelan for crimes she didn’t commit, she heads back too the Cobbles to try and plead her case with her family.

The dramatic series of events begin when Kevin Webster visits Anna in prison and delivered some devastating news.

With doubt in his mind about Anna’s innocence, Kevin reveals the heartbreaking announcement that he’s ending their relationship.

Despite Kevin’s claims that things are over because he wants to concentrate on his son, Jack, Anna can see through his lies and knows it is because he thinks she could be guilty of hurting Seb.

With her family turning against her, Anna is convinced she won’t stand a chance of proving her innocence in court and decides the only way she is going to escape a lengthy stint in prison is to prove she’s innocent herself.

Making a dash for freedom, Anna risks everything by heading back to her home.

As Anna hides in the bushes by the Red Rec, she panics when she sees neighbours Craig Tinker – who also happens to be a policeman.

Looking frantically for somewhere to hide she heads back to the Street – but with more and more people believing she’s guilty, is that really a good idea?

Phelan is desperate for Anna to take the wrap for his crimes – could the pair come face to face again?

Debbie Rush, who plays Anna, recently told Digital Spy, “When Anna escapes, it’s because her whole world has caved in. We all know she hasn’t pushed poor Seb.

“She lost Owen, the love of her life. Then she fell into Kev’s arms and things looked up for her. Then she had the accident and was badly burned and had all the body confidence issues.”

Debbie went on to explain that just as her character was finally getting back on her feet, everything started going wrong for her again…

“Then Anna runs away and escapes and you’ll see more of an unravelling. It’s a case where things can’t get any worse.

“Security isn’t great in the hospital and they are unassuming with little Anna and think she won’t run away! She hides in various different places back on the street.”
