EastEnders confirm exit this autumn

Whose time is up?

We knew it’d only be a matter of time before temporary EastEnders boss John Yorke got his teeth stuck in to making some changes.

And it seems the first one is already here with the reported confirmation that one of the younger cast members will leave in an explosive September storyline.

With the news earlier this week that the Carter clan will be involved in a dramatic motorway smash involving an ambulance, and Linda and Johnny will be left fighting for their lives, our thoughts immediately turn to Johnny meeting his maker.

But according to Metro.co.uk, a show source has revealed this is just one part of a major plot that will change Walford forever.

And a series of Instagram stories and images have been shared as the younger cast gathered together for a farewell celebration.

Jacqueline Jossa (Lauren Branning), Aaron Sidwell (Steven Beale), Jasmine Armfield (Bex Fowler), Harry Reid (Ben Mitchell), Tilly Keeper (Louise Mitchell), Shaheen Jafargholi (Shakil Kazemi), and Zack Morris (Keegan Baker) were partying the night away, with a ‘sorry you’re leaving’ banner in the background.

So just who is saying farewell to Walford?

As ever, EastEnders bosses are keeping tight-lipped, but a mole told Metro.co.uk: “There are some really big storylines coming up over the end of summer and winter and that will see several strands coming to a head leading to some very dramatic scenes.

“One of these cast members is leaving the show, but there is a lot more to come for them before that happens and viewers will just have to wait and see how they go!”

Jacqueline Jossa has played down these rumours on Twitter, replying to one user: “Why y’all thinking it’s cast.. #wehaveotherfriends.”

Prompting speculation it could be a crew member who’s departing instead.

Hmm, we’re not so sure. It’s usual course of action for a new boss to come in with a bang, and it sounds like this is definitely going to be a storyline that does just that.

It’s been reported the huge plotline will involve almost all of the cast as well as stunts, exits, and much, much more.

It was speculated earlier in the week that Max Branning will kill Steven after telling Lauren he has three months to live thanks to his fake brain tumour.

When three months is up, they’re going to have to come up with a plan – is this it?

Or will Lauren discover the truth so Steven has to kill her rather than losing her back to his brother Peter, or to her boss, Josh Hemmings?

Could the bullies come back to hurt Louise or Bex – and this time finish them off? Will Shaki get caught in the crossfire trying to protect them? Or trying to protect his mum, Carmel, from Max?

Something big is coming and it’s about time – Walford really needs a shake up.
