The sad news couldn’t come at a worse time as Tyrone and his estranged partner Fiz have just agreed to give their relationship another go.

In fact, Ty is looking forward to a romantic meal with Fiz when a knock at the door surprises him.

He’s shocked to see the police there. And even more shocked to hear that Jackie has died.

When Fiz arrives later she’s met with a devastated Tyrone who confesses to her that he hoped he’d be able to make up with his mum at some point.

He sobs on her shoulder and eventually asks her to stay with him, uniting the former couple in grief.

Jackie was played by Liverpudlian actress Margi Clarke, from 1998, when she was introduced as Deirdre’s cellmate during that spell she did for fraud (which she was completely innocent of!).

She was last seen in 2010, when Tyrone sent her packing over being mean to his wife Molly.

Tyrone and Fiz have been separated since earlier this year after Fiz discovered Tyrone had had a one night stand with Gemma.

Their relationship had already been under strain while Fiz was away looking after her poorly mum Cilla, meaning she missed Christmas with Ty and their girls Hope and Ruby.

Plus they had the added strain of Ruby turning into the anti-christ, with a furious Fiz saying she couldn’t have Hope in the same house as Ruby who had inherited a bullying gene from her mum Kirsty.

Fiz moved into Chesney’s with Hope and was left stunned when she saw her daughter trying to push Ches’ son Joseph down the stairs.

She realised with horror that it was Hope who’d been doing all the naughty things she’d accused Ruby of doing – like setting fire to the trampoline.

Fiz then made the mistake of keeping this new information away from Ty, continuing to let him think little Ruby had mental health issues.

We revealed yesterday that Coronation Street were killing Jackie off off-screen.
