It has been reported that Coronation Street is lining up a new romance for Bethany Platt with none other than newcomer Ryan Connor.
Ryan is set to make a beeline for Bethany after she catches his eye.
And now that he is staying put in Weatherfield since his job in Ibiza has fallen though, it looks like this could have the potential to go the distance.
Corrie insiders have told Digital Spy that Bethany agrees to go out on a date with the man Michelle Connor raised as her own son for 14 years, but is their romance set to last?

Ryan Prescott, who plays Weatherfield’s new arrival, recently hinted at a new romance for his character during a chat with The Mirror: “I can’t really say too much but Ryan’s got his eye on someone… they’ve taken his fancy.
“He’s quite besotted actually. But that’s all I can say.”
But while viewers would love to see Bethany have some happiness in her life after the rough year she has been through thanks to evil Nathan Curtis, this could spell the end of any reunion hopes for Bethany and Craig reuniting.
The pair are currently just friends, but when Craig goes on a date with new Speed Daal waitress Kayla next week, Bethany is left feeling jealous that her ex is moving on.
Could Ryan’s request for a date come just at the right time to take her mind off Craig’s new flourishing romance?

Ryan has always had a bit of a bad-boy persona, and it doesn’t look like he has changed much since he arrived back on the cobbles.
