Coronation Street’s Ryan Prescott, who plays recently-returned Ryan Connor, has hinted there could be romance on the cards for his character as he falls head-over-heels for someone on the cobbles.
The actor hinted to The Mirror at the recent British Soap Awards that Ryan while Ryan might have only been back on the Cobbles for a few weeks, that hasn’t stopped one of the Weatherfield women catching his eye.
Ryan revealed: “Well I can’t really say too much but Ryan’s got his eye on someone. He’s quite besotted actually, but that’s all I can say.”
He also revealed that viewers might well be surprised by who that object of Ryan’s attraction is… intriguing.

“I mean, when I got the script I was like ‘Oo!’. But yeah, it brings in a lot more emotional drama for Ryan as well and a lot more higher stakes stuff which is fun to play.”
Ryan went on to tell the newspaper that he had enjoyed getting to know his character over the last few months: “I’d definitely say he has a dark side, 100 per cent – I’d say we all have a dark side. Get enough pints in him…”
The actor, who plays the man Michelle raised thinking he was her biological son, also revealed that there is still tension between Ali and Ryan because of their complicated set-up with their mum, even after all these years…
“He wants to fit in, he wants to be part of the family. As much as he kind of dislikes Ali, he’s kind of found a little piece of home in Robert’s place, so he would like everything to go well.
“I think in his own way, in his own sibling rivalry of his, he brotherly make gestures towards Ali and he kind of winds him up a little bit, which is fun for him at the end of the day.
I think Ryan just wants people to be happy around him and he does just generally want people to like him.”
After the horrendous few months the Connors have had, it’s about time one of them had something to smile about.
First there was the tragic death of Aidan after he took his own life, and then more recently the Connors faced more tragedy when Pat Phelan stormed Michelle and Robert’s wedding, taking Michelle hostage which ended with her getting shot.

But things finally seem to be looking up for the family.
Michelle is set to be thrilled next week when Ryan reveals his job in Ibiza has fallen through and so he will be sticking around on the cobbles for a while longer.
There is only one snag though. Robert thought Ryan was leaving Weatherfield, and so invites Michelle’s biological son Ali to come and live with them.
So with Ryan and Ali both sticking around, it looks like things are set to get cosy in Michelle and Robert’s flat.
