Coronation Street fans were in bits tonight when David Platt relived his horrific rape ordeal at the hands of Josh Tucker to a police officer.
Clearly struggling with having to speak about the vile attack out loud, David told the officer: “I don’t remember much about getting back to his flat because he drugged me.”
The copper asks: “How do you know he drugged you?”

“Because he told me,” David replied. “He told me that he’d slipped GHB in my drink.”
“The rest of it is just a blank,” he recalled. “I remember bits. I remember him trying to touch my leg and I was trying to push him off.”
The officer, who was hugely sympathetic to David’s confession, then asked him about the pain he felt which led to him realising he’d been raped.
“Where was it? What kind of pain?” he asked, which caused David to break down in tears. “Take your time David, I know these are difficult questions but we have to be specific.”
David tearfully replied: “I hate this. I hate him that I have to be here, that I have to go through all this while he’s out there.”
He then went on to explain how he feels guilty because he was unable to stop Josh from raping him.

David made the tough decision to go to the police after overhearing devastated Johnny Connor confide in Peter Barlow last night that he wishes Aidan had opened up to him before taking his own life.
Fans of the ITV soap were quick to heap praise on Jack P Shepherd for his heart-breaking performance.

A third said: “Great acting from Jack P. Shepherd/David Platt. Horrific storyline.”

As the difficult interview wrapped up, the investigating officer asked David if he’d ever given Josh consent to have sex with him and he replied he hadn’t.
He was then asked if he’d be prepared to go to court and testify against his attack to which David bravely said he would.
Meanwhile Josh was busy getting his version of things across to Alya, saying he’d had consensual sex with David.
