Corrie fans fuming with Gary for bringing Phelan back

Coronation Street's biggest ever week has begun...

Coronation Street fans were left baffled by Gary Windass last night after he bought serial killer Pat Phelan back to the cobbles.

Viewers know that this week is set to be one of the biggest the soap has ever seen as evil Phelan is set to get his comeuppance for the vile crimes he has committed.

But while fans were thrilled to see the character they love to hate back on their screens, most were confused about why Gary didn’t just call the police when he tracked Phelan down…

After working out that Phelan was still alive when he realised that Nicola’s online mum friend was none other than her meant-to-be-dead dad, Gary tracked his nemesis down to a campsite in Wales.

But while most normal people would call the police and let them deal with the murderer, this is soapland and so of course Gary decided to confront Pat himself.

The episode ended with Sarah walking into the builders yard to see a bound and gagged Phelan tied up to a chair – knocked out cold.

Her words ‘Oh Gary, that have you done?” were exactly what the whole nation was thinking at the same time… why would you bring such a dangerous villain with a vendetta against half of Coronation Street back to the cobbles?
