Coronation Street fans treated to a glimpse of the Rovers mysterious kitchen

It really DOES exist

Viewers of Coronation Street were beside themselves during last night’s double bill as they finally got a glimpse of the mysterious Rovers Return kitchen.

It’s been 40 years since the kitchen last made an appearance on-screen – and fans were starting to wonder if it even existed at all.

But the mysterious back room was shown in all its glory during a scene Eva Price made a cuppa for current Rovers landlady, Toyah Battersby.

And, what stunned the audience the most, was that it looked pretty normal and nothing like you’d imagine a pub kitchen looking at all.

There were no stainless steel surfaces or rows of pans hanging up, just a few cupboards and a rather ordinary looking toaster.

There were even some pot plants, for goodness sake.

It’s been over four decades since the kitchen was last seen, and back then it looked much more how you’d expect a kitchen of an dining venue to look.

It had a big industrial cooker, plus loads of catering supplies and that all important table where the characters could sit down for a gossip.

Last night Toyah and Eva discussed Eva’s unplanned pregnancy and how she would tell the dad, Aidan Connor.

Eva decided there was no way he could find out about the baby because he wanted to forget they’d ever happened and move on as friends.

Toyah tried to persuade a devastated Eva that she didn’t have to get rid of the baby, but Eva was adamant.

Then Toyah, who recently lost the baby she was having through a surrogate, came up with an idea – telling Eva she had another option.

While she didn’t reveal what this option was, fans are convinced that Toyah will suggest Eva has the baby and gives it to her.

Could that work?
