Rylan Clark-Neal says he’d “love to have kids” with husband Dan Neal when the “time is right”

Is he ready to be a dad?

When Rylan Clark-Neal recently took a break from presenting This Morning, many wondered if it was because he was ready to start a family with his husband, Dan.

But the former X Factor star has now revealed that he has no plans to have children right now.

Speaking to The Sun, he admitted: “I’d love to have kids but I just think it’s when the time’s right. Like, I’m 30 this year.”

Referring to 38-year-old Dan’s son from a previous relationship, he added: “Cameron’s 18 now” – hinting there would be a large age gap between any future siblings.

Rylan added: “I’m not going to sit here and say it won’t happen. If it happens I’ll be very lucky and I’ll love it.”

His bubbly personality and quick wit has meant he’s been in such demand recently he’s had to start turning down work for the sake of his health – which is the real reason why he isn’t currently on This Morning.

Rylan has said he was becoming understandably exhausted from getting up early to appear on the morning show, before then staying up late working on Big Brother’s Bit On The Side, alongside his other work commitments.

Rylan is now enjoying his break from This Morning and, unfortunately for us, hasn’t yet decided when he’ll be back.

He told Now magazine this week: “I will go back, but I just don’t know when – although I have to admit, it’s been very nice not having to get up at 6am every day!

“I love This Morning, and the guys have been so good to me.”

The former reality TV star announced his departure from This Morning just before Christmas, and ended the year having to fight off rumours that he hadn’t been sacked. (As if!)

Even This Morning host Eamonn Holmes couldn’t resist pulling Rylan’s leg during his last few days on the show.

When Rylan joined Eamonn and his wife Ruth Langsford for one of his usual showbiz slots, Eamonn said: “Four more sleeps until you’re history!”

“I’m not history!” argued Rylan. “I’m having a little break!”

Eamonn replied: “Are you going or were you sacked?”

Laughing, Rylan played along with the joke: “I’ve been sacked! I’ve had too many complaints that my teeth are giving too much of a glare in the morning.”

Hurry back Rylan!
