Katie Price has always maintained she never wanted to divorce Peter Andre.
They met in the I’m A Celebrity jungle in 2004, married the following year in a lavish ceremony, but just four years later it was all over.
In a new interview, ex glamour model Katie, 39, has been reflecting on the relationship breakdown, saying while she didn’t want the divorce, she does appreciate their time together wasn’t exactly normal.

“I genuinely loved Pete, genuinely… and I never ever wanted to split with him,” she told John Bishop for an episode of his In Conversation With… series.
“But when I look back it wasn’t normal. Everything we did was documented, you know?”
We do!
There was a time when you couldn’t move without seeing Peter and Jordan on the TV, on magazine covers, in the papers… actually, kind of like these days…
Their relationship blossomed in front of millions of I’m A Celebrity viewers, their lives together were filmed for a string of successful fly-on-the-wall documentaries.
Even their wedding and arrival of their children were on camera.
When asked by John if she and Pete would have stayed together if they hadn’t been filming reality shows, Katie said: “Yeah, we’d have probably stayed together, yeah.”
“I mean there was other factors in it, but yeah, no, definitely, I didn’t wanna split with him.”

In Katie’s autobiography, You Only Live Once, she stressed how she was against the split and desperately tried to get Peter to change his mind.
She said: “Pete is the love of my life, and my life.
“We have children together and I am devastated and disappointed by his decision to separate and divorce me, as I married him for life.
“This is not what I want and the decision has between taken out of my hands.
“But I will always love my Pete.”
Katie and Peter are parents to son Junior, 12, and daughter Princess, ten.
She also has sons Harvey, 15, and Jett, four, and daughter Bunny, three, from other relationships.
After her divorce from Peter, she married cagefighter Alex Reid but the relationship lasted just a year before they split in 2011.
Katie was then engaged to Argentinian model Leandro Penna, but that didn’t last either.
She’s now married to third husband Kieran Hayler, a former plasterer and stripper, who is the father of her two youngest children.
They wed in the Bahamas in January 2013 following a whirlwind romance.
However, her marriage to Kieran has been shaky over the last couple of years.
Katie took him back in 2014 after he cheated on her with her best friend Jane Pountney, standing by him as he underwent sex addiction therapy.

But the star’s world came shattering down again in August when she found out Kieran had been cheating on her yet again.
While Katie initially vowed to divorce him, there have been signs in recent weeks that she’s softened and has taken him back, although neither she nor Kieran have confirmed that.
