She admitted: "I was upset, and for what reason I don’t know, I just felt really irritated.
"And this might sound so silly to people who don’t have mental health issues but it was raining and it deepened my mood."
Kerry, who is married to George Kay, also spoke about her infamous interview on the show eight years ago where she was accused of being on drugs after slurring her words.
She said: "It was eight years ago I was on the famous couch, [the] infamous interview of me slurring.
"That was due to medication, pure medication."
Following her extremely honest interview the singer won praise from viewers watching from home.
One wrote on Twitter: "Absolutely love Kerry Katona. The way she’s so open about mental health is just fantastic #ThisMorning."
"What Kerry Katona is saying is amazing. What she’s saying needs to be put places for everybody to see. #ThisMorning," another said.
