Gogglebox bosses tease brand new version of the show

The show is set to have a spin-off featuring younger stars

Gogglebox has been a hit with viewers since it first hit our screens four years ago.

The ‘adult’ version proved so successful, the brand was expanded to Gogglesprogs.

Now show bosses have teased a brand new format that is set to air next month.

Fans will see the nation’s teens get in front of their screens in the upcoming spin-off show.

A source told The Sun: “A teen version of Gogglebox has been a big priority for Channel 4 and Studio Lambert for a while now, especially after the success of kid spinoff Gogglesprogs, so they’re delighted it’s finally happening.

“But it’s not been without challenges. The name has caused a right dilemma.”

“Gogglebox is such a beloved brand that viewers should come flocking, but it’s known for being a show that your mum and dad sit down and watch on a Friday night – which is not exactly appealing to teens,” they added.

The show was originally set to be called ‘Goggleteens’ but show bosses have suggested it could now be called ‘Screen Time’.

It’s believed that Gogglebox chiefs are looking at making the show appeal more to the younger generation instead of being a show that “your mum and dad sit down and watch”.

Meanwhile on the show viewers were left outraged after sisters Izzi and Ellie Warner made an inappropriate joke during the show.

The TV stars were shown footage showing a horrifying moment an American doctor was dragged off a flight due to overcrowding.

Watching the scenes Ellie said: “Oh my God, that would make an amazing Snapchat story.”

To which Izzi replied: “That would be straight on my story.

“What caption would you do?”

Answering her own question she said: “When they tell you no booze left on the flight.”

Viewers were outraged with on tweeting: “The sisters joking that they would put the United Airlines incident on their Snapchat if they were there, they really are thick #gogglebox.”

“#Gogglebox @ellieandizzi should be ashamed of themselves saying the united airlines incident would of ‘made a great snapchat story,” said another.
