Coronation Street turns the air blue!

Fans were in hysterics

It’s the soap best known for it’s comedy and lighthearted one-liners and Corrie’s Sean Tully and Liz McDonald revealed the show’s still got it on Friday night.

A naughty joke had viewers falling off their sofas laughing as the air went a decidedly bright shade of blue!

During a scene in the Rovers Return to celebrate Sinead’s birthday, barman Sean served a rather disgusting looking blue cocktail to her.

Proudly presenting her with his concoction, he announced:

“There you go, I’ve even sugared the rim for you.”

“You don’t get an offer like that every day,” landlady Liz chimed in.

How very rude!

Actor Antony Cotton, who plays Sean, took to Twitter to explain who was behind the brilliant line. Saying:

“In answer to the many questions about Friday’s @itvcorrie, Sean’s line about sugaring the rim, it was penned by the marvellous Julie Jones.”

Fans immediately responded to Antony to express their delight at the scene.

@CoogarUK said: “If only there was an award for the best one-liner!”

While @cath_johns added: “It did make me chuckle”.

And @Bellassz1 said: “Corrie often makes me howl laughing at some of the little witticisms. Love it!”
