Zoe Ball’s It Takes Two replacement Gethin Jones apologises after Strictly pro swears live on air

Pro dancer Janette Manrara let slip a naughty word

Gethin Jones filled in for Zoe Ball on last night’s Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two after she pulled out due to illness.

But the presenter, 41, found himself in a bit of a bother after having to apologise for a pro dancer, who swore live on air.

Gethin was interviewing contestant Will Bayley and his professional dance partner Janette Manrara about their upcoming performance this week.

Will and Janette will be dancing to the iconic Pokémon anime theme song ‘Gotta Catch ‘Em All’ for Movies Week.

Speaking about rehearsing for their performance, Janette said: “I’ve discovered I am a lot like Pikachu in real life.

“Apparently fuzzy and cute, but don’t [bleep] Pikachu off.”

Gethin laughed at her comment before the pair went off to show viewers a glimpse of their performance.

The guest presenter then addressed the camera, saying: “This is an apology for the slip of the tongue then from Janette a few seconds ago.”

On Tuesday, Zoe apologised to fans for missing the show.

She wrote on Twitter: “Gutted to say I’ve been taken down by a nasty bout of flu. Huge apologies for missing the R2 Breakfast Show & It Takes Two.

“Thanks to @Nicki_Chapman & @GethincJones for stepping in. Promise to be back ASAP.

“Sending love to anyone else illin with this flu, it’s such a stinker (sic).”

BBC added in a statement: “Tonight’s It Takes Two will be hosted by Strictly favourite Gethin Jones, as Zoe Ball is unwell.
