I’m A Celebrity returns to our screens at the weekend and the stars of the show have touched down in Australia to prepare for their time in the jungle.
One arrival in particular has raised eyebrows as he’s the father of a man renowned around the world with a serious job to do.
Breaking the news on today’s Lorraine, showbiz reporter Dan Wootton said the surprise package on this year’s show will be none other than Boris Johnson’s dad, Stanley.
He said: “Boris Johnson has no idea his dad Stanley has arrived in Australia to star in I’m A Celebrity. It’s a distraction he doesn’t need.”
Like his famous son who is currently the UK’s foreign secretary, Stanley was once a Conservative MP and is now an author.
But Lorraine Kelly questioned his credentials to appear in the jungle.
“He’s not a celebrity,” she complained. “He’s only a celebrity by association.”
But ITV bosses will no doubt hope Stanley will be provide as much TV gold as his son usually does when he’s supposed to be carrying out serious political business.

The former Mayor of London is often seen as a blond buffoon because of his bumbling comments and ability to make a fool of himself.
It is hoped Tory toff Stanley, 77, will be as just entertaining as his son when he appears on I’m A Celeb, so he’s already tipped by bookies to be crowned King of the Jungle.
Dan said: “I have spoken to the bookies this morning and he’s already joint favourite to win alongside Hollyoaks’ Jamie Lomas. They think he will have the common touch and charm of Boris.
“It would be quite a shock for a 77-year-old to win.”
Also rumoured to be appearing on this year’s show after landing in Australia are boxer Amir Khan, the Saturday’s Vanessa White and footballer Dennis Wise.

Fans are also delighted to see Ant McPartlin has arrived to co-host with best friend Declan Donnelly after he’s had a difficult period recovering from an addiction to prescription painkillers.
All the stars will be officially confirmed by ITV later this week ahead of the show’s return on Sunday.
