What viewers didn’t see after ‘mad’ Brian Conley was voted off Strictly

His 'rant' was edited out...

Brian Conley was voted off Strictly this weekend and he didn’t take losing as gracefully as shown on TV, according to showbiz reporter Dan Wootton.

Dan went behind the scenes of the dance show on Saturday night and said a lot more went on following the dance-off than was broadcast to viewers.

Speaking to Christine Lampard who was standing in for Lorraine Kelly on today’s Lorraine, he revealed: “Thank goodness it wasn’t broadcast live.

“Once he heard he was voted out, Brian went a little mad. He stormed the judges’ desk – all of this was edited out – and used bad language to describe the studio set-up. He called it an s-hole and said the toilets were horrible.”

Dan continued: “He then called Darcey Bussell the ‘H’ word. You could see Tess Daly standing there thinking, ‘I have lost control, what do I do?'”

Christine then asked: “This rant went on some time, then?”

Dan replied: “Yes, then he stole the mic as he wanted to have his moment. You’d had no idea all this had gone on when watching yesterday.”

What viewers did see was Brian being voted into the bottom two along with Sunday Brunch star Simon Rimmer.

Following their dance-off, Darcey and Craig Revel Horwood both voted to save Simon.

This meant he went through to next week with a majority – without Shirley Ballas having to cast her vote – because there were only three judges at the weekend due to Bruno Tonioli being away.

Brian was shown taking his departure in good humour, paying tribute to his dance partner Amy Dowden and saying he’d miss his new friend for life, Aston Merrygold.

Many viewers felt the judges had made the wrong decision as Simon slipped over during his routine with dance partner Karen Clifton.

They felt he deserved the chop more than Brian, who became the fourth celeb to leave this year’s series.

Dan also talked about Bruno’s absence from Saturday’s show, saying he’s becoming exhausted by his trans-Atlantic travel as he’s also currently a judge on Dancing With The Stars in the U.S.
