Viewers destroyed by policeman Dave and his dog Finn on Britain’s Got Talent

One man and his dog had everyone in bits

| Updated:

There were tears all round during Britain’s Got Talent this evening, as contestant Dave appeared on stage and introduced his co-star, Finn.

Finn was a mind reader, it transpired… and also a dog!

Policeman Dave and his four-legged colleague impressed as judge David Walliams showed Finn a word he had written down while Dave was looking away.

Finn then communicated the correct word – table – to his owner.

And while everyone was impressed by this feat, it was moving footage of the pair that followed which got the old tear ducts working overtime.

Dave revealed that he was once set upon by a man with a 10-inch knife and, as Finn jumped in to protect him, the brave dog was stabbed and left fighting for his life.

“Seeing my friend on the brink of death broke my heart,” Dave revealed.

Even Simon’s lip was wobbling as was then asked up on stage and told to open a notepad to reveal a random word that best suited Finn.

He landed on ‘heroic’ and Dave showed everyone that it was the exact same word written on Finn’s collar.

Simon, visibly moved, then said: “That was pretty incredible. That’s never happened on any show. A dog will literally give up his life for you.

“For anyone who has been cruel to an animal or dog, just remember if you had treated him well they would have put their lives up ahead of you.”

Viewers were left red-eyed by the awesome act and their special bond.

Many wondered why they hadn’t got the golden buzzer treatment…
