Two new I’m A Celebrity contestants confirmed

There's ALWAYS a late arrival every year!

| Updated:

Two brand new stars have arrived in the Aussie jungle to surprise the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! camp.

Adding extra contestants after launch night is the shock twist that isn’t really a shock twist anymore, right?

But nevertheless, two new faces have touched down on the Gold Coast ready to join in with the camp fun.

So, who are they?

Well, there’s no surprise there either, as the late arrivals are the widely-rumoured radio host Iain Lee and former Scottish Labour leader Kezia Dugdale.

Photos obtained by The Sun show Iain, 44, and Kezia, 36, in their jungle gear, boarding helicopters that will take them to Croc Creek.

It’s likely to ruffle some feathers in the camp given the original ten campmates have had a couple of days to settle down in Croc Creek and suss each other out.

Iain currently presents The Late Night Alternative Show on talkRADIO as well as having a successful career as a stand-up comedian.

A source told the newspaper: “He regularly rants and raves on his TalkRadio show and his listeners should expect the same from him in the jungle.

“He will not bite his tongue and is sure to break the harmonious camp’s current mood very quickly. Expect fireworks.”

Kezia, meanwhile, resigned as the leader of the Scottish Labour Party in August.

It’s reported she will donate her fee to charity.

Kezia’s appearance has sparked a bit of controversy after the current Scottish Labour Party leader, Richard Leonard, said she had sought permission to take part in the show but it had not been granted.

He told BBC Radio Scotland: “My understanding is that she sought permission and wasn’t given permission.”

A friend, however, has been quoted as saying Kezia was given permission to take a leave of absence to work overseas on a project that would raise money for charity – it was just not disclosed that project was I’m A Celebrity.

She won’t be the first politician to have entered the jungle, though.

Previous politicians to have taken part include Robert Kilroy-Silk, Lembit Opik, Nadine Dorries and Edwina Currie, while Boris Johnson’s father Stanley is among the current line-up.

Meanwhile, viewers were in hysterics last night after boxer Amir Khan rather sensationally failed to complete the first Bushtucker Trial of the series.

The 30-year-old ended up screaming, “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here!” after encountering a snake while taking on Critter-Cal Rescue with campmate Georgia Toffolo.

It meant the camp lost the meal tickets they’d already earned and it was back to rice and beans for everyone.

Oh dear…

I’m A Celebrity airs nightly at 9pm on ITV.
