Licking her wounds after being voted off The X Factor last night, Tracy Leanne Jefford said she believes her early exit was all down to one thing.
The mother-of-three told Lorraine Kelly and Dan Wootton on today’s Lorraine that her song choice was to blame.
She admitted she had worried in advance that it would be a mistake to perform J Lo’s “Ain’t Your Mama” but she went with it and performed to the best of her ability.
But the public agreed the song didn’t show her at her best, voting her off following her lacklustre performance on Sunday’s show where the overs took on the girls’ category.
Tracy Leanne said of her song choice: “I was a little bit concerned about it but I thought just embrace it, go on and be yourself.”
Tracy Leanne performed the J Lo hit as part of Latino week with her mentor Nicole Scherzinger’s backing.
But showbiz reporter Dan said he thought it was an “appalling” choice, and Lorraine agreed, saying the singer ended up with a song that could not allow her to let loose her big voice.
Tracy replied: “Now I look at it, it wasn’t the right song choice for me. It never got my vocal across. I did enjoy it but maybe it was the wrong choice.”

Lorraine also lamented the fact Tracy Leanne may had stayed if the show hadn’t abandoned the sing off.
She slammed the show’s “bizarre” new format where the two acts with the least votes go instantly each weekend, while another two battle it out for a money can’t buy prize.
On Saturday night, Leon Mallet was voted off as Louis Walsh’s boys took on Simon Cowell’s groups.
Rak-Su were the most popular act of the night, but they missed out on the prize after Kevin Daly White impressed with his performance on Sunday.
Tracy Leanne said this won’t be the last we’ve seen of her as she wants to continue to be in the public eye, and would even consider going straight to the jungle to appear on I’m A Celebrity like Jake Quickenden did following his X Factor exit in 2014.

She said: “I’ve had the most amazing time of my life. I enjoyed it and I’ve made so many friends.
“I feel so much more confident now. The X Factor has changed my life and this isn’t the end for me.”
