A source told The Sun: “Dancing on Ice bosses have reached out to nearly 50 celebrities in total about taking part in the new series.

“There’s a big pool of talent, but only those who can prove they have the ability to actually tackle some of the harder moves and the training will make it in.

“They really want a glamorous soap star in the show, and three of the Hollyoaks girls are in with a shout but only one of them is going to make it.”

It was revealed on a recent episode of This Morning that famous ice skaters Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean will return to the show.

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby also announced they will be returning to host the show as they did when it first started in 2006.

Can you believe it’s been over 10 years since Dancing On Ice started?

Holly presented the skating series with Phil from its beginning in 2006 until Christine Lampard took over in 2012.

There’s going to be a brand new studio set and a whole host of new professional skaters.

Phillip said: “There are some big changes, all for the very exciting better. It’s now in a brand new home.”

Jayne and Chris, who normally train the celebrities and choreograph the routines are switching roles however, and are moving onto the judging panel and will be alongside two additional judges who have yet to be announced.

Chris revealed: “The professionals and the celebrities are going to do their own choreography.”

Holly replied that that felt a little bit frightening as Chris and Jayne would have no control over it at all.
