This Morning viewers left in tears after “the most heartbreaking” phone-in segment

Hosts Holly and Phil were also tearing up while talking to terminally ill Theresa

This Morning viewers were left in tears after Thursday’s This Morning after listening to Theresa’s heartbreaking story during the phone-in segment.

Hosts Holly Willoughby, Phillip Schofield and guest Jeff Brazier, who was giving advice on coping after a loss, were also moved by her story and even struggled to contain their emotions.

Theresa explained that she is terminally ill and only has two months left to live and is worried about how her children will cope without her.

Theresa’s story is truly heartbreaking after she revealed she previously lost two of her children and her husband tragically died earlier this year.

Theresa went on to explain that she is terminally ill and only has a couple of months left to live and worries about her three children becoming orphans.

Holly, 36, and Phil, 55, struggled to hold back tears as Theresa broke down during the call.

She explained that she is worried about how her children are going to cope without her.

Theresa said: “I’ve tried [to prepare my children]. They still don’t want to accept it. I’ve had one cardiac arrest and two strokes.”

“I’ve not been able to go into a hospice because they won’t let me,” she added before breaking down.

Jeff was in a similar position as he was left as a single dad to two boys after the death of his former partner Jade Goody in 2009.

He explained that the show will do everything they can to help her prepare her children.

At the end of the segment Phil said: “We will talk to everyone and Theresa is top of the list.”

Viewers were left sobbing listening to the phone-in.

One wrote: “Poor woman talking on the phone to #ThisMorning heartbreaking, @schofe looks close to tears.”

Another added: “This is heart wrenching, sending massive love and thoughts to Theresa and her family, absolutely sobbing.”

“OMG. Poor Theresa. There’s no words there? It’s heartbreaking,” a third tweeted.

A fourth agreed: “I’m in absolute tears at this story.”

One added: “The most heartbreaking phone interview. Life is precious.”

This isn’t the only time Holly and Phil have been reduced to tears in an emotional phone-in segment.

Earlier this year Phil was driven to tears after listening to a mum who was struggling to help her son who was being severely bullied.

Rebecca explained her son won’t leave the house because he’s so scared of bullies and has even said he wanted to kill himself.

Rebecca told the hosts: “I’ve moved all my tablets, I’ve taken his dressing gown cord away – I’m just terrified.”

Phil then said they will try and set up an activity or trip to help her son get back to reality.

Rebecca broke down in tears over the phone before thanking the presenting duo.

This led to Holly put her head in her hands and Phil struggled to hold back his tears.

The pair were praised by viewers for showing their emotions on air and offering to help Rebecca and her son.
