The X Factor: Celebrity loses one million viewers

Viewing figures "drop like a stone"

The Saturday night ratings war seems to have been won, with viewers turning off Simon Cowell’s X Factor: Celebrity in their droves.

The media mogul had been hoping to reignite the county’s love affair with The X Factor by launching a celebrity version.

However, Saturday night’s show drew in just 3.9m viewers – almost one million down on the previous week’s record-low launch show.

And fans had their own theories for the ratings drop, with some blaming the judges for putting through “novelty acts”.

Some blamed show boss Simon for the ratings slide.

Fans of the show – which goes live this coming weekend – also previously questioned who some of the “stars” taking part in the show actually were.

Over on BBC One, footballer David James was booted off of Strictly Come Dancing after being in the dance-off with Mike Bushell.
