The Footballers’ Wives news we’ve all been waiting for…

YESSSSSS!

Get ready for a blast from the past. Remember Footballers’ Wives? The best, trashy TV show of the early noughties? Well, our favourite couple Kyle and Chardonnay Pascoe are set to return – to Hollyoaks!

Yep, it’s rumoured that Susie Amy – who played Chardonnay – has signed a contract with the popular Channel 4 soap and will be joining Gary Lucy – who played her footballer husband Kyle – in the soap set in Chester.

You’ll remember that Gary played Luke Morgan yonks ago on the soap and has recently returned after 15 years with his ex girlfriend Mandy Richardson (Sarah Jayne Dunn).

Luke’s drinking problems tore him and Mandy apart and although they’re not back together yet, he’s determined to win her back.

That is until Susie’s character rocks up. Da da daaaaah!

And if you think you’re pleased to see Kyle and Chardonnay reunited on telly, you won’t believe how chuffed Gary is about the whole thing as HE was the one who suggested Susie should join him on Hollyoaks.

After the pair were reunited for a chin wag on Loose Women, Gary described their time together on Footballers’ Wives as “amazing,” adding, “Susie made it more amazing.”

It seems that the pairing is a right old win for Hollyoaks with an insider admitting to The Mirror, “Getting these two back together is a result for Hollyoaks.

“It’s a short-term contract but the door is very much open for a return if the fans like what they see.”

Oh, we will. We’re sure of it.

Life’s been pretty busy for Gary during his Hollyoaks hiatus with stints on EastEnders, Casualty and BBC drama Missing. He also took away the runners-up crown on Dancing On Ice.

And you might have spied Susie in the BBC series New Street Law and playing Lindsey Gordon on Coronation Street.

But who cares about all of that now? Kyle and Chardonnay are reunited and we’re off to crack open the Bolly to celebrate.
