The Cube: Phillip Schofield delights fans as he returns to film ITV game show

The host returned to the ITV set alongside the perspex cube

Phillip Schofield has revealed The Cube is set to make its long-awaited comeback very soon.

The 58-year-old This Morning host took to social media to give followers a behind-the-scenes look as he returned to filming yesterday (August 9).

The ITV show last aired in 2015, with Phillip telling fans on Instagram Stories: “Well hello my cuboid friend, I’ve missed you.”

When is The Cube back?

Alongside the caption, the host shared a photo of the famous set as he filmed new content for the popular gameshow.

Phil also posted a snap of himself next to the perspex cube.

He added: “This is going to be a fun week! The Cube returns. On telly soon.”

Last month, ITV announced that a brand new version of The Cube would be returning to TV screens.

Following the announcement, Phil made clear his excitement over the major show comeback.

He exclaimed: “The Cube is such a cracking format but with the players now in teams and a whopping million-pound prize fund, it now means this high-pressure environment has just got tougher.

“I can’t wait to be reunited with the legendary Perspex Cube!”

What is The Cube?

Hosted by Phillip throughout, The Cube ias one of the biggest budget game shows on UK television ever.

Unlike many game shows that require general knowledge, this show puts its contestants through a series of physical and mental tests.

Contestants were placed within a perspex cube and competed for the chance to win £250,000.

This has already been a huge year for Phillip, having come out as gay back in February.

At the time, he said: “With the strength and support of my wife and my daughters, I have been coming to terms with the fact that I am gay.”

The popular TV host is also set to release his first autobiography, Life’s What You Make It.
