The chase’s Bradley Walsh fumes at Anne Hegerty over sausage question

Bradley wasn't happy

The Chase host Bradley Walsh ranted at Anne Hegerty after she failed to answer a question about sausages.

During Monday night’s show, Bradley was left gobsmacked as Anne couldn’t explain to him exactly what a banger was.

It all started when Anne and contestant Joel were asked: “In 2018, what country banned meat-related words for vegetarian meat substitutes?”

The options were: France, Spain or Italy.

Both Anne and Joel correctly picked France and it seemed Bradley wanted to know more about sausages.

Bradley asked Anne: “Sausage means what?” to which Anne replied: “A sausage is a tube of skin with mince meat in the middle.”

Bradley shouted: “I know what it is! Where does the word come from. Saucisson?”

Anne said: “Possibly. I really don’t know.”

Bradley ranted: “What is the point of you being a Chaser if you don’t know this stuff?

“This is the stuff you are supposed to know. Never mind how many billions of stars or whether the world’s circumference is the same as your neck.

“What we need to know is – what is a sausage?”

Anne replied: “I don’t know,” to which Bradley jokingly collapsed in horror.

Anne added: “I’ll have to go and look it up.”

It comes after Anne was forced to deny she is the topless Newcastle fan in a picture that has been circulating online.

The star found herself in the rather unusual predicament after a fan made the comparison between a Geordie man in a crowd at a football match and Anne on Twitter.

The moob-flashing male revealed his bare chest for all to see, but luckily 60-year-old Anne managed to see the funny side of the online prank.

The quiz expert hit back at the comparison using her witty sense of humour.

At first she tweeted: “I would just like to confirm that this is NOT me…”

When one fan jokingly replied; “Prove it,” Anne’s sense of humour really came out when she retorted: “My [bleep] are bigger than that.”
