Strictly’s Shirley Ballas slammed as ‘rude’ for ‘laughing’ after Anneka Rice’s routine

Viewers of Strictly Come Dancing branded head judge Shirley Ballas as “rude” after she appeared to laugh after Anneka Rice’s Movie Week routine.

Shirley, 59, couldn’t contain her laughter after Anneka’s Kill Bill-inspired dance.

Legendary broadcaster Anneka, 61, was dancing the Charleston with partner Kevin Clifton.

Dressed in Uma Thurman’s iconic yellow and black jumpsuit, the routine did not go down well with the judges.

When it came to head judge Shirley, she couldn’t stop laughing as Anneka and Kevin walked over to host Tess Daly.

Once she had stopped, she told Anneka that she was stunning but her routine was a little bit too frenetic.

Bruno Tonioli, wiping away tears of laughter, said: “Here’s what happened – it was supposed to be Kill Bill, but you did Slaughter The Charleston.”

In all, the judges awarded her 11 points.

But, joining Claudia upstairs after the dance, she explained that when she started her Strictly journey she couldn’t even clap in time and the whole experience had been ‘outstanding’ for her.

And fans took to Twitter to defend her, as well a lambast Shirley for laughing so much at her.

One twitter user wrote: “I’m still not over Shirley Ballas LAUGHING at Anneka.

“Rude, rude, rude.”
